It was quite an excellent 2010 season and we got to finish in high style by racing at Treasure Island in the San Francisco International Dragon Boat Race and Festival. The winds were windy, the waves were wavey and we all traded shirts to come home with some spiffy new ones (thanks again, Killer Guppies and KP Dragons!).
Dave and I then took a whirlwind trip to Orlando in October to race with the HydroBLADES at Disney World! While I did enjoy my time racing in Downtown Disney in the shadow of Pleasure Island (no comments, please), my most enjoyable time was found poolside at the Port Orleans Riverside. There was a water slide! Seriously, when was the last time you were on a water slide?
Anyway, as November approaches, its time to get serious again. We’ll be working on endurance and perfecting our form and technique at our indoor training facility. Its still a long way until we get the boats on the water, but its never too early to start preparing.
